UNSPSC 70141515: Roots or tubers production

UNSPSC 70141515 Roots or tubers production, a Commodity code, shows a fundamental mismatch between its nominal scope and recent state and local solicitation activity. The code's abstract classification suggests agricultural commodities — potatoes, cassava, yams, and similar starchy crops — yet the two most recent opportunities tagged under it have no connection to agricultural production: one is a comprehensive event production and technical services procurement for the FIFA Fan Festival at Centennial Olympic Park in Atlanta (issued by the Georgia World Congress Center Authority in February 2026), and the other is an executive search services engagement for a city manager recruitment (issued by the City of College Park, Georgia in January 2026). Neither represents roots or tubers production, and the tagging appears to reflect data-classification error rather than actual procurement intent under the code.

State and local governments do not appear to be using this code for agricultural commodity procurement in the recent opportunities record. The code shows little relevant activity for business development professionals evaluating genuine roots or tubers sourcing. No representatives of the solicitations tagged under this code align with the commodity scope — no agricultural departments, no farm-to-institution procurement, no seed or propagation material sourcing. Until the source presents genuine state and local roots or tubers production opportunities properly classified under this code, pursuing activity here carries no practical signal value.
