UNSPSC 60104007: Enzymology kits or supplies

UNSPSC 60104007 Enzymology kits or supplies is a Commodity code that shows no relevant recent state and local procurement activity. The five posted opportunities tagged with this code over the past five months all source educational and classroom supplies — Montessori classroom materials, contraceptive education displays and posters, fire prevention week resource kits, sensory room and therapeutic products, and STEM and career readiness kits — none of which fall within the scope of enzymatic laboratory kits or supplies that the code nominally describes. The mismatch between the code's intended taxonomy and the work actually being solicited suggests either persistent miscoding by issuing bodies or a fundamental gap between how this Commodity code is defined and what state and local procurement offices are using it for in practice.

The buying pattern across these five mismatched opportunities spans school districts (Hillsborough County Public Schools in Florida and Cartwright Elementary School District No. 83 in Arizona), state health and safety departments (Illinois Department of Public Health and Oregon Department of the State Fire Marshal), and county governments (Rockland County), with response dates ranging from August through October 2026 and contract values ranging from under $10,000 to estimated annual usage of $1,346,000 in the Arizona consortium procurement. No recent state and local opportunities under this code present genuine demand for enzymatic laboratory supplies, making it a low-priority pursuit vehicle for vendors in that sector.
