UNSPSC 52121502: Comforters

UNSPSC 52121502 Comforters is a Commodity code under which state and local governments procure bedding products for institutional use, primarily in correctional facilities, detention centers, homeless shelters, and other congregate-care settings. The code covers filled quilted bed coverings, typically specified by weight, fiber content, and durability standards suited to high-turnover, institutional-laundry environments. Purchasing bodies include state departments of corrections, county jail systems, city and county social services agencies, and special-purpose districts operating residential facilities. Solicitations under this code tend to be straightforward IFB or ITB processes, often part of broader institutional bedding and linen contracts that bundle comforters with sheets, pillows, and mattress covers.

Without posted RFPs, RFQs, IBFs, or ITBs identifying this code, issuing-body concentration, geographic spread, and current procurement volume cannot be characterized from recent activity. If pursuing this code, monitor state DOC procurement portals and county jail purchasing offices directly, as comforter solicitations may route through cooperative purchasing agreements or standing contracts rather than individual open bidding cycles.
