UNSPSC 52121501: Quilts

UNSPSC 52121501 Quilts is a Commodity code for bedding textiles that state and local governments procure primarily for institutional facilities — correctional institutions, hospitals, nursing homes, and residential care facilities. The code covers finished quilts in standard institutional sizes and weights, typically specified by thread count, material composition, and durability standards suitable for high-volume laundering. State and local issuing bodies soliciting under this code include departments of corrections, health and human services agencies, county jail systems, and municipal hospital procurement offices. Quilts are often bundled into larger textile RFPs alongside sheets, pillowcases, and blankets, though dedicated quilt solicitations do occur when institutions need to refresh inventory or meet specific fire-code or infection-control specifications.

No recent state and local contract opportunities appear in the dataset for UNSPSC 52121501 Quilts. The code shows minimal recent procurement activity at the state and local level, suggesting that most quilt sourcing occurs either through cooperative purchasing agreements, blanket orders with existing textile vendors, or as line items within broader bedding-and-linens solicitations classified under higher-tier family or class codes. Business development professionals should monitor family-level textile codes and state-level purchasing cooperatives for indirect visibility into quilt demand, particularly from departments of corrections and state health systems.
