UNSPSC 51191969: Hydroxocobalamin or vitamin B12a

Hydroxocobalamin, also known as vitamin B12 and hydroxycobalamin, is a vitamin found in food and used as a dietary supplement. As a supplement, it is used to treat vitamin B12 deficiency including pernicious anemia. Other uses include treatment for cyanide poisoning, Leber's optic atrophy, and toxic amblyopia.

UNSPSC 51191969 Hydroxocobalamin or vitamin B12a is a Commodity code that shows no relevant recent state and local procurement activity. The three most recent opportunities posted under this code—athletic training services for fire and police departments in Tucson, medical aid supplies for Tampa Fire Rescue, and a therapeutic pharmacy initiative RFI from the Texas Health and Human Services Commission—do not involve hydroxocobalamin or vitamin B12a procurement. The code's nominal scope (a specific pharmaceutical supplement) bears no relationship to the services and general medical supplies actually being solicited in the available records.

Without evidence of active state and local demand for hydroxocobalamin or vitamin B12a as a standalone procurement item, this code presents minimal near-term opportunity. Business development professionals pursuing pharmaceutical products or pharmacy services in the state and local space should monitor codes aligned with broader pharmacy benefit management, drug procurement, or medical supplies categories rather than this narrowly defined vitamin commodity.
