UNSPSC 50422706: Dried giant red celery

The variety of celery known as giant red celery that has been dried for preservation.

UNSPSC 50422706 Dried giant red celery, a Commodity code, shows minimal alignment between its nominal scope and actual state and local procurement activity. The recent opportunities block contains no solicitations for dried giant red celery or related celery products; instead, the five recent opportunities target dried beans (kidney beans, black beans, pinto and red beans), broad institutional food supply (including proteins, dairy, grains, beverages, and condiments), and cafeteria staples for correctional and child-care settings. Georgia Correctional Industries, the State of Oregon, the Texas Department of Criminal Justice, the City of Edinburg (Texas), and the State of Illinois have all posted food procurement notices in the past four months, but none specify celery products. The code appears to see no recent state and local procurement activity that matches its stated commodity.

Without representative recent opportunities under this code, no issuing-body mix, geographic concentration, or pursuit signals can be reliably drawn from current market activity. Vendors evaluating this code should verify whether state and local procurement offices are actively tagging celery purchases under 50422706 or whether the code sits dormant in their taxonomies. If activity exists, it is not reflected in the recent-opportunities data provided.
