UNSPSC 50317001: Organic akee

The type of organic fruit known as organic akee

UNSPSC 50317001 Organic akee, a Commodity code, does not reflect recent state and local procurement activity. The single recent opportunity in the dataset—Madison Metropolitan School District's RFB 4162 for petite bananas (posted July 8, 2026, with bids due July 29, 2026)—is plainly unrelated to akee, a tropical fruit with minimal domestic cultivation. The broader recent-opportunities block shows school district food service solicitations focused on fresh produce (apples, bananas, berries, broccoli, carrots, peppers, tomatoes, leafy greens, citrus fruits, and eggs) supporting National School Lunch Programs, School Breakfast Programs, and USDA Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Programs, but no activity soliciting akee or other tropical specialty fruits by name. State and local governments procuring under this code are not visible in current market activity.

The absence of recent opportunities tagged to UNSPSC 50317001 signals low or negligible procurement volume for organic akee at the state and local level. School districts dominate fresh produce procurement across the dataset, and their solicitations emphasize commodity staples and seasonally available items sourced within 200–400 miles of service areas where possible. Organic specialty tropical fruits, if procured at all, are not emerging as a distinct line item in competitive bids. This code is not worth pursuing based on observable recent activity.
