UNSPSC 50221106: Barley grain

A cereal grain.

UNSPSC 50221106 Barley grain is a Commodity code that shows minimal alignment with recent state and local procurement activity. The two most recent opportunities tagged under this code—a Sourcewell cooperative purchasing RFP for law enforcement equipment (Solicitation 061626, due June 16, 2026) and a Butts County School System IFB for school nutrition program food supplies (Solicitation PE55683NONST2027000000020, due May 26, 2026)—do not involve barley grain procurement. The law enforcement equipment solicitation explicitly concerns equipment for police and public safety agencies across multiple jurisdictions; the school nutrition food bid solicitation covers general food products for six school locations but does not specify barley or grain commodities in available documentation. State and local governments do procure food supplies, including grains, through school nutrition programs and institutional food services, but the recent opportunities indexed under this code do not substantiate active barley grain solicitation at present.

Activity under the barley grain code appears dormant in recent state and local procurement records. Without documented opportunities actually seeking barley grain purchases from state agencies, counties, school districts, or other public bodies, this code does not present a clear basis for business development prioritization at this time.
