UNSPSC 49161601: Racquetball rackets

UNSPSC 49161601 Racquetball rackets (Commodity) shows minimal alignment between the code's nominal scope and recent state and local solicitations. The two most recent opportunities tagged under this code—a cooperative law enforcement equipment procurement through Sourcewell and an athletic equipment and apparel RFQ from Albany State University—do not match the product line the code describes. The Sourcewell RFP #061626 (due June 16, 2026) seeks law enforcement equipment broadly for participating governmental agencies across multiple states and Canada, while the Albany State University eRFQ (due March 26, 2026) targets athletic apparel, sports equipment, and customization services for Division II intercollegiate athletics. Neither opportunity names racquetball rackets or equivalent sports equipment as a procurement focus.

The code shows little relevant recent activity in state and local procurement. Issuing bodies appear to span cooperative purchasing vehicles (Sourcewell on behalf of participating county and municipal entities in Washington and beyond) and higher-education athletic programs (Albany State University within Georgia's university system), but the taggging does not reflect actual commodity needs. Without additional opportunities showing genuine demand for racquetball rackets or racquet sports equipment at the state and local level, the code cannot be characterized as an active procurement category in this market segment.
