UNSPSC 46182203: Back support rests

UNSPSC 46182203 Back support rests is a Commodity code that appears to see little recent relevant activity in state and local procurement. The two most recent opportunities posted under this code — a Region 7 Purchasing Cooperative catalog discount bid for special education and supplies (SPE2628, due October 1, 2026) and a White County Board of Commissioners RFP for ambulance garage repairs in Georgia (PE77037NONST2027000000028, due July 31, 2026) — do not align with the code's nominal scope of back support rests as orthopedic or ergonomic equipment. The cooperative procurement covers discounted bulk catalogs of special education materials; the White County solicitation is structural construction repair. Neither represents procurement of back support equipment.

The mismatch suggests that state and local issuing bodies may be tagging facilities-related or miscellaneous medical-equipment opportunities under this code without precision. If back support rests are being procured by state and local jurisdictions, they are not surfacing under this code in current competitive notices. Business development professionals should verify the actual commodity intent before investing pursuit effort; the code's recent record does not show active, well-classified demand for back support products in the state and local market.
