UNSPSC 46121601: Electronic safe or arm devices

UNSPSC 46121601 Electronic safe or arm devices, a Commodity code, covers electronic locking and arming mechanisms for safes, security containers, and related storage equipment procured by state and local public bodies. State and local governments buy these components primarily for evidence rooms, secure evidence storage facilities, and jail or detention center property management systems where controlled access and tamper documentation are required. The work spans the supply and installation of electronic lock mechanisms, card-reader or biometric entry systems integrated with safe hardware, battery backup and power-failure notification systems, and audit-trail software that records access events. Issuing bodies include state law enforcement agencies, county sheriff offices, county detention facilities, municipal police departments, and specialized evidence management or property control divisions within larger jurisdictions.

The source provides no recent state and local contract opportunities tagged to this code. Without posted RFP, RFQ, IFB, or ITB records, current market activity under 46121601 cannot be characterized by geography, issuing-body concentration, or representative recent solicitations. Firms pursuing this code should monitor solicitations from state attorney general offices, state crime laboratory systems, county jail and detention procurement offices, and municipal police and public safety departments in regions with active evidence management modernization or facility expansion projects.
