UNSPSC 42293604: Surgical bougie sets

In this classification, this commodity indicates a product used as a set of bougies during a surgical procedure in a medical setting. Most nations, for tariff and trade purposes, schedule these products under HS 901920.

UNSPSC 42293604 Surgical bougie sets, a Commodity code, does not match the scope of recently posted state and local opportunities. The opportunities tagged to this code involve laser equipment and technical support for operating rooms, surgical power instruments, outpatient building furniture, law enforcement equipment, and phlebotomy services—none of which align with surgical bougie sets or their installation, maintenance, or replacement. The mismatch suggests that this Commodity code shows little relevant recent activity in state and local procurement, or that the opportunities have been incorrectly classified in the source system.

The five most recent opportunities span San Mateo County Medical Center (California), the State of California, Sourcewell (Minnesota cooperative covering multiple jurisdictions in Washington and beyond), and the State of Nevada. None of the procurement notice types, scopes, response deadlines, or issuing bodies reflect actual demand for surgical bougie sets. Vendors pursuing this specific surgical instrument category should verify code assignment independently rather than rely on recent opportunity postings under this Commodity code.
