UNSPSC 42161653: Negative-pressure dialysis control stations

In this classification, this commodity indicates a product used as negative-pressure dialysis control station in a hemodialysis procedure in a medical setting. Most nations, for tariff and trade purposes, schedule these products under HS 901890.

UNSPSC 42161653 Negative-pressure dialysis control stations (Commodity) does not match the work actually being solicited under this code in recent state and local opportunities. The two posted opportunities — a Sourcewell cooperative procurement for law enforcement equipment and a Klein Independent School District RFP for career technical education and advanced academics instructional resources — bear no relationship to dialysis equipment or medical device procurement. No relevant recent activity supporting this code's nominal scope appears in the available solicitation record.

The mismatch signals either miscoding by the issuing bodies or a data-alignment problem in how opportunities are being tagged to UNSPSC categories. Firms pursuing dialysis-related medical equipment sales should verify coding directly with target health system procurement offices and state purchasing cooperatives rather than relying on this code as a reliable source signal for actual demand.
