UNSPSC 42142721: Urological guidewires or glidewires

In this classification, this commodity indicates a product that is designed to facilitate device placement through urological procedures. Most nations, for tariff and trade purposes, schedule these products under HS 902110.

UNSPSC 42142721 Urological guidewires or glidewires is a Commodity code, but the recent state and local opportunities posted under this code show no procurement activity aligned with urological medical devices. The Washington State Department of Transportation solicited occupational medical surveillance services (RFP20260825, due October 9, 2026), and the Texas Health and Human Services Commission solicited general medical supplies and equipment for a state supported living center (IFB HHS0017603, due July 30, 2026). Neither opportunity involves urological guidewires or glidewires; the code appears to capture a mismatch between the taxonomy assignment and the actual goods being purchased.

The code shows little relevant recent activity. Business development professionals should verify whether state and local procurement offices are actively using this Commodity code for urological device procurement, or whether the recent postings reflect a data-entry error in the solicitation-tagging process. If urological guidewire procurement does occur under this code in practice, current visibility into that activity is not present in the recent opportunity set.
