UNSPSC 41131617: Lectins and protectins

In this classification, lectins and protectins are proteins derived from plants and lower animals that cause cell agglutination in the presence of certain antigens. These substances are used to detect blood group antigens for in vitro diagnostic purposes. US FDA regulates Lectins and protectins under 21 CFR 864.9550 and under FDA product code KSI.

UNSPSC 41131617 Lectins and protectins, a Commodity code, shows no meaningful alignment with recent state and local procurement activity. The three most recent opportunities tagged to this code are janitorial and operational supplies for a Florida county fire department, career and technical education instructional resources for a Texas school district, and emergency refrigerated truck rental for an Arizona police evidence unit—none of which involve lectins, protectins, or the biological or pharmaceutical products this code nominally describes. The mismatch between the code's intended scope and the work actually being solicited suggests either persistent miscoding by the issuing jurisdictions or that the code is rarely used for its intended commodity in state and local procurement.

No recent opportunities directly related to lectins and protectins appear in the available state and local solicitation record. The code should be considered inactive for current business development purposes in the state and local market.
