UNSPSC 41123006: Desiccator accessories

It is a laboratory instrument with accessories used to keep a substance clean and dehydrated through vacuum

UNSPSC 41123006 Desiccator accessories, a Commodity code, shows minimal alignment with actual state and local procurement activity. The three recent opportunities posted under this code—Klein Independent School District's Career Technical Education instructional resources (RFP #26-101, due June 5, 2026), the City of Palm Bay's laboratory testing services for water and wastewater programs (ITB 19-ITB-26, bid opening March 17, 2026), and Santa Clara County's public health lab information management system replacement (RFI RFITSSFY260686, response due April 22, 2026)—involve instructional supplies, analytical testing services, and software platforms respectively. None of these solicitations reference desiccator accessories or related laboratory equipment storage and preservation products that the code nominally describes.

The issuing bodies span a school district, a municipal utility authority, and a county public health agency across three states (Texas, Florida, and California), reflecting fragmented geographic and jurisdictional activity. The mismatch between the code's intended scope and the work actually being solicited suggests that desiccator accessories do not currently drive material state and local procurement activity, or when they are purchased, they are tagged under different UNSPSC classifications. Vendors pursuing this code should verify directly with procurement offices whether desiccator accessories are being sourced independently or bundled into broader laboratory equipment, facility maintenance, or educational supply categories.
