UNSPSC 41122602: Microscopes slide coverslips

UNSPSC 41122602 Microscopes slide coverslips is a Commodity code that shows minimal alignment with actual state and local procurement activity. The single recent opportunity tagged to this code—City of Madison, Wisconsin's RFP for city-wide printing and mailing services (Solicitation 1500802026, due April 3, 2026)—concerns dynamic laser printing, document composition, insertion, mail finishing, and envelope storage for the Madison Water Utility and Finance Department. This work bears no relationship to microscope slide coverslips, the nominal scope of the code. The mismatch suggests either a data-entry error in the opportunity classification or that the code is not actively used by state and local procurement offices for their actual purchasing needs.

The geographic and issuing-body signals are too thin to establish meaningful market activity. Only one jurisdiction appears in the recent-opportunities record, and its posting does not represent procurement under the code's intended scope. No other state or local buyers surface as active in this category. Absent evidence of genuine recent opportunities for microscope slide coverslips or related laboratory supplies, the code does not support a pursuit strategy based on current state and local demand.
