UNSPSC 41121607: Universal pipette tips

UNSPSC 41121607 Universal pipette tips is a Commodity code, but the recent state and local opportunities posted under this code do not align with the purchase of pipette tips or related laboratory consumables. The three most recent opportunities—crime lab supply procurement in Albuquerque, laboratory testing services in Palm Bay, Florida, and a lab information management system RFI in Santa Clara County—involve forensic evidence materials, environmental testing services, and software systems respectively, with no mention of pipette tips or universal pipetting supplies. The code shows little relevant recent activity for pipette tip procurement.

The mismatch between the code's nominal scope and the opportunities tagged to it suggests either cataloging inconsistency in the posting systems or that state and local procurement offices are using this code for broader laboratory-supply categories without precision. If pipette tips are being procured under this code, they do not surface in the current activity block. Firms pursuing universal pipette tip sales should monitor the code for any future refinement in tagging practices, but recent signals do not support active pursuit based on the opportunities shown.
