UNSPSC 41116142: Parasitology or mycology media

UNSPSC 41116142 Parasitology or mycology media is a Commodity code with a significant disconnect between its nominal scope and recent state and local solicitation activity. The four most recent opportunities posted under this code — indoor air quality services, stormwater technology demonstration, offender drug testing, and bio-health pod system evaluation — bear no relationship to parasitology or mycology laboratory media. This code shows little relevant recent activity aligned with its stated product classification.

The mismatch suggests either systematic tagging error within the source jurisdictions' procurement systems or that the code is being used as a catchall for environmental health and laboratory-related services rather than for the parasitology and mycology culture media the Commodity name denotes. Business development professionals should verify with issuing bodies whether opportunities tagged to 41116142 are intentional before investing pursuit resources; the absence of genuine parasitology or mycology media procurement in the recent block indicates this code warrants close attention to actual buying patterns rather than reliance on the code's abstract name. No state or local government has posted a solicitation for parasitology or mycology media itself during the period covered by the source.
