UNSPSC 41114720: Paper and cloth water absoption tester

A tester that measures the degree of paper or fiber to absorb water.

UNSPSC 41114720 Paper and cloth water absorption tester is a Commodity code covering laboratory instruments that measure the rate and degree to which paper and fabric materials absorb water — equipment used in quality-control and product-development settings across industrial and institutional buyers. State and local governments procure this equipment primarily through state departments of corrections, state environmental labs, university facilities and research centers, and municipal wastewater treatment authorities that conduct in-house testing of materials for operational or regulatory compliance. The work itself consists of supplying the tester unit, calibration services, and consumables such as test media and reagents; some solicitations bundle training and ongoing maintenance support.

The source contains no recent state and local contract opportunities tagged to this code. Without posted RFP, RFQ, IFB, or ITB records, the current market activity and geographic distribution cannot be characterized from procurement data alone. Firms pursuing opportunities under this code should monitor state purchasing portals and cooperative-purchasing vehicle postings for notices from state laboratory networks, corrections procurement offices, and higher-education facilities management operations, as these are the primary issuing-body categories likely to solicit water-absorption testing equipment.
