UNSPSC 41114210: Optical level

An optical instrument designed to ascertain the height difference or equality between two points.

UNSPSC 41114210 Optical level is a Commodity code that shows little relevant recent activity in state and local procurement. The three posted opportunities in the source are tagged under this code but involve landscape and field maintenance equipment (the City of Phoenix's five-year equipment and parts contract), and automated transit vehicles (two Jacksonville Transportation Authority procurements for SAE Level 4 automated driving systems). None of these solicitations describe optical levels, theodolites, or surveying instruments of any kind. The mismatch between the code's nominal scope and the actual work being bought suggests that either the code has been misapplied to these opportunities or that current state and local buyers are not actively sourcing optical levels through formal procurement channels tracked in the available source material.

If optical levels are being procured at the state and local level, they are not appearing in recent IFB, RFP, or RFQ notices under this code in the available record. A business development professional evaluating this code should verify whether optical-level demand exists in their target jurisdictions through direct outreach to surveying, public works, and transportation departments rather than relying on formal solicitation activity.
