UNSPSC 41112903: Sextants

UNSPSC 41112903 Sextants (Commodity) describes navigational instruments, but the recent state and local procurement activity under this code shows a significant mismatch: Chatham County, Georgia's March 2026 solicitation tags an IFB for two new Mercury outboard motors for marine patrol operations under this code, a marine propulsion product wholly unrelated to sextants or celestial navigation equipment. The code shows minimal recent relevant activity aligned with its nominal scope.

The single identified recent opportunity is Chatham County's IFB 26-0038-4, posted March 24, 2026, with a bid due date of May 4, 2026, for two identical new Mercury outboard motors designated for the County's Marine Patrol. No budget or estimated award value is disclosed. Chatham County directs all bidder questions in writing to Procurement Specialist Bernadine P. Bruen through its Bonfire portal and explicitly prohibits direct vendor contact with county departments during the bidding process. No set-asides or incumbent vendors are identified. The code appears to carry limited applicability to actual state and local procurement needs; bidders evaluating activity under 41112903 should verify code assignments in future solicitations, as this category's nominal scope (sextants) does not reflect current buying patterns in the sample.
