UNSPSC 41112216: Thermowells

UNSPSC 41112216 Thermowells, a Commodity code, addresses temperature-measurement devices that state and local governments procure for industrial process control, HVAC systems, and utility infrastructure monitoring. Thermowells are protective sleeves or housings installed in pipes, vessels, and equipment to enable safe insertion and removal of temperature sensors without disrupting operations or depressurizing systems. State and local buying under this code spans water and wastewater utilities, municipal power plants, manufacturing facilities operated by state agencies, school district maintenance operations, and transit authorities managing fleet or facility thermal systems. The code captures both metallic and ceramic well designs, varying in material composition, pressure ratings, and insertion depths to match specific operational environments and sensor types.

No recent state and local contract opportunities appear in the source data for UNSPSC 41112216. The absence of posted solicitations under this code may reflect the commodity's role as a component within larger infrastructure or equipment procurements—thermowells are often specified as subordinate line items in facility construction, HVAC upgrades, or utility modernization projects rather than standalone competitive solicitations. Firms pursuing this category should monitor water and wastewater RFPs, municipal utility system upgrades, and school facility modernization notices for embedded thermowell specifications, and track cooperative purchasing vehicle catalogs where thermowells appear as pre-qualified supply items.
