UNSPSC 41111918: Gyroscopic instruments

UNSPSC 41111918 Gyroscopic instruments is a Commodity code that covers precision navigation and rotational-measurement devices used in specialized applications by state and local public bodies. The code captures gyroscopes and related instrumentation—including rate gyros, fiber-optic gyros, and integrating gyroscopes—deployed in surveying, aviation, maritime navigation, and industrial control systems. State and local issuing bodies procuring under this code include transportation departments, airport authorities, port authorities, and specialized municipal agencies responsible for infrastructure monitoring and navigation-grade measurement. School districts and community colleges with aviation or engineering programs also source gyroscopic instruments for training and laboratory use.

The source material does not contain recent state and local contract opportunities tagged to this code, so current procurement activity and geographic concentration cannot be characterized. The scarcity of recent solicitations under UNSPSC 41111918 suggests that direct commodity purchases of gyroscopic instruments are infrequent in state and local markets, or that such procurements are typically embedded within larger systems-integration or equipment-supplier contracts tagged at a higher UNSPSC tier rather than called out at the commodity level.
