UNSPSC 41111510: Postal scales

UNSPSC 41111510 Postal scales (Commodity) encompasses postage metering and mail-processing equipment leasing, with recent state and local opportunities centered on USPS-authorized postage services and high-speed sorting capabilities. State and local governments procure postage metering equipment and related mail-processing services through this code, typically for centralized mail operations serving multiple agency departments. Issuing bodies include county purchasing offices managing mail services across administrative functions and subordinate agencies.

A Florida county issued an RFI (solicitation number BLD6232026F10) on June 23, 2026, with a due date of July 1, 2026, to determine whether postage metering equipment and high-speed sorting services are available from multiple USPS-authorized third-party providers or whether Pitney Bowes Inc. qualifies as sole source. The County sought to lease USPS-authorized postage metering equipment and high-speed sorting services under a State of Florida contract for the Office of Information Technologies and various County agencies. The RFI was non-binding — not a purchase commitment but rather a notice of intent to designate sole source, with vendors invited to contest the proposed designation or demonstrate comparable alternatives through the electronic bidding system.
