UNSPSC 41106203: Bacteria transformation kits

UNSPSC 41106203 Bacteria transformation kits, a Commodity code, does not reflect active recent state and local procurement activity. Of the opportunities tagged to this code in the provided source, none involve bacteria transformation kits or molecular biology reagents; instead, the records describe university equipment procurements—UAVs, microscopes, spectrometers, cold spray systems, induction furnaces, and laboratory instruments—and municipal water-testing supplies wholly unrelated to bacterial transformation. The code appears to be a cataloging mismatch rather than an indicator of genuine demand under this commodity classification.

Mississippi State University and the University of Mississippi dominate the recent opportunities attributed to this code, but the actual procurements span scientific instruments and specialized equipment supporting research and operations in materials science, environmental monitoring, aerospace, and facilities management. This suggests either a systematic tagging error or that the code descriptor no longer aligns with how state procurement systems are coding these acquisitions. Until opportunities explicitly soliciting bacterial transformation kits, competent cells, plasmids, or related molecular biology reagents surface in recent state and local RFPs, RFQs, or IFBs, the code carries no actionable signal for business development in this market segment.
