UNSPSC 41104807: Fat extractors

UNSPSC 41104807 Fat extractors, a Commodity code, shows a significant mismatch between its nominal scope and the work actually being solicited under it in recent state and local opportunities. The recent solicitations tagged with this code include fire and rescue equipment procurement, laboratory testing services for water and wastewater compliance, and laboratory digestion block equipment — none of which align with fat extraction or food-service grease management. The code appears to have been applied incorrectly to these opportunities, suggesting either data-entry error in the tagging systems or a fundamental misclassification at the source agency level.

With no relevant recent activity supporting fat extractor procurement in the identified opportunities, this code presents no current pursuit opportunity for vendors offering extraction equipment or related services to state and local government buyers. The geographic spread of the three opportunities spans Georgia, Florida, and Texas, but none reflect demand for the commodity the code nominally describes. Issuers include Fulton County (fire and rescue), the City of Palm Bay (water and wastewater testing), and the City of Fort Worth (laboratory equipment). Until state and local procurement offices begin tagging fat extractor solicitations with the correct UNSPSC code, business development activity under 41104807 should remain on watch rather than pursue status.
