UNSPSC 41104701: Freeze dryers or lyophilizers

UNSPSC 41104701 Freeze dryers or lyophilizers is a Commodity code that shows minimal alignment with actual recent state and local procurement activity. The County of Santa Clara issued an RFI for a Public Health Lab Information Management Solution Replacement (RFITSSFY260686, due April 22, 2026), which was tagged under this code but concerns lab information management systems and LIMS platforms, not freeze-drying or lyophilization equipment. The nominal scope of the code — laboratory freeze-drying apparatus — does not match the information systems procurement being solicited.

No recent state and local opportunities for freeze dryers or lyophilizers proper appear in the available records. The single opportunity indexed under this code represents a tagging mismatch rather than a representative solicitation. Vendors evaluating this code should verify whether state and local procurement offices are actively seeking freeze-drying equipment through alternative code assignments or whether demand under this specific Commodity code remains dormant in the current state and local contracting cycle.
