UNSPSC 41104602 Programmable box furnaces, a Commodity code, names laboratory equipment that state and local governments procure for water quality, wastewater, environmental, and materials-testing programs. Recent activity shows the code capturing furnace and lab-equipment purchases by municipal water and wastewater utilities, county public health departments, and state transportation agencies. The work involves procurement of laboratory furnaces and related analytical equipment to support regulatory compliance testing, environmental monitoring, and materials analysis across water treatment, wastewater treatment, groundwater monitoring, industrial pretreatment, and asphalt-content analysis programs.

Recent solicitation activity spans Florida, California, and Texas. The City of Palm Bay, Florida issued ITB 19-ITB-26 in March 2026 for comprehensive laboratory testing services across three wastewater treatment facilities, two water treatment facilities, groundwater monitoring wells, and industrial pretreatment programs—a 188-line-item scope encompassing water testing, wastewater testing, industrial pretreatment testing, and courier services. The County of Santa Clara issued an RFI on April 7, 2026 (response due April 22, 2026) for a Public Health Lab Information Management Solution Replacement, seeking a modern, scalable lab information management system to support the County's Public Health Lab operations.
