UNSPSC 41103512: Static eliminators

UNSPSC 41103512 Static eliminators (Commodity) shows little alignment between the code's nominal scope and the recent state and local opportunities posted under it. The tagged solicitations involve lab information management system replacements, atomic force microscopes, general microscopy equipment and maintenance, and microscope training—none of which concern electrostatic discharge elimination devices or static-control products that the code title describes. State and local procurement databases occasionally tag opportunities with codes that do not match the work actually being solicited, and this code appears to be an instance of that mismatch.

The recent opportunities do reflect activity by state universities and county governments in Wisconsin and Florida, with University of Wisconsin-Madison posting three microscopy-related RFBs (atomic force microscope, general microscopes and accessories with maintenance, and microscope training) between March and April 2026, and Hillsborough County Board of County Commissioners in Tampa seeking Motic Trinocular Microscope Training at an estimated value of $21,000 with a March 19, 2026 response deadline. Santa Clara County in California posted an RFI for a Public Health Lab Information Management Solution in April 2026. No opportunities in the block meaningfully reflect static eliminator procurement, making it difficult to assess genuine demand or issuing-body concentration under this code's actual scope.
