UNSPSC 40172202: Cast iron pipe blind flange

Pipe blind flange made of cast iron

UNSPSC 40172202 Cast iron pipe blind flange is a Commodity code that represents individual cast iron pipe components and fittings used in municipal water, wastewater, and stormwater infrastructure systems. State and local governments procure these fittings as discrete line items within larger sewer and water main rehabilitation, replacement, and extension projects where cast iron or related metallic pipe systems require repair, connection, or termination. Issuing bodies under this code include county sanitation districts and county public works departments managing infrastructure rehabilitation programs.

Santa Clara County shows recent activity under this code. County Sanitation District No. 2-3 posted IFB ITBRDAFY270088 on August 26, 2026 for the Structural Defect Repair Project Phase 2, a sewer infrastructure rehabilitation program in the unincorporated eastern foothills with proposals due September 17, 2026, which includes removal and replacement of existing cast iron pipe segments with PVC and HDPE alternatives, as well as service connection fittings. Santa Clara County also solicited on the Central Expressway Pavement Rehabilitation Project Between Bowers Avenue and Scott Boulevard via IFB ITBRDAFY260694, posted April 29, 2026 with bids due May 21, 2026, focused primarily on pavement and roadway infrastructure rather than cast iron pipe components.
