UNSPSC 40151609: Screw compressors

UNSPSC 40151609 Screw compressors is a Commodity code covering rotating compressor equipment and associated components, yet recent state and local procurement activity under this code shows minimal direct alignment with the nominal scope. The opportunities posted carry generic tags for janitorial supplies, law enforcement equipment, wastewater dewatering systems, and pump service — none of which center on screw compressor procurement in any clear sense. State and local governments do purchase industrial compressors and related rotating machinery for water and wastewater treatment, fire service operations, and municipal utility work, but the present activity record does not surface representative RFPs, RFQs, ITBs, or IFBs explicitly soliciting screw compressors or compressor repair and parts supply.

The geographic spread reflected in recent postings spans Florida (Hillsborough County, Collier County, and the City of Tampa), Washington state (Franklin, Grant, Grays Harbor, Chelan, and Yakima counties through the Sourcewell cooperative), and Minnesota (Sourcewell administrative base), though none of these opportunities target compressor equipment directly. Issuing bodies include county boards of commissioners, cities, and regional cooperatives; Sourcewell's law enforcement equipment RFP (#061626, due June 16, 2026) notably serves a multi-state consortium. The code shows little relevant recent activity specific to compressor procurement — prospective vendors should review actual RFP and ITB notices in target markets to identify genuine demand rather than rely on this code's recent posting history as a market signal.
