UNSPSC 40102203: Metal expansion joint

Expansion joints fabricated of metals.

UNSPSC 40102203 Metal expansion joint is a Commodity code covering metallic expansion joints and related hardware used in bridge, building, and infrastructure applications to accommodate structural movement and thermal stress. State and local governments procure these products primarily for bridge rehabilitation and maintenance, roadway construction projects, and building infrastructure upgrades where movement accommodation is critical to structural integrity and safety. Issuing bodies soliciting under this code include state departments of transportation, county public works departments, city engineering and capital projects offices, and special-purpose infrastructure districts. The work is typically embedded within larger capital improvement initiatives rather than standalone procurements, appearing in RFPs and IFBs for bridge deck work, highway rehabilitation, and structural renovations.

The recent-opportunities block contains no posted state and local solicitations under this code. Without current procurement records, the geographic distribution and recent demand patterns for metal expansion joints cannot be characterized from the available source material.
