UNSPSC 39131709: Electrical wire or cable raceway

UNSPSC 39131709 Electrical wire or cable raceway is a Commodity code that in practice encompasses a broader range of electrical equipment, parts, and supplies that state and local governments source for facility operations and infrastructure maintenance. Recent solicitations show school districts, transit authorities, and municipalities procuring sealed-bid contracts for electrical components, equipment rentals, repair services, and ancillary supplies needed to maintain building systems and transit infrastructure. The Northside Independent School District in Texas, for example, issued IFB 2026098 in June 2026 for electrical equipment, parts, supplies, rentals, repairs, and services with a response deadline of July 1, 2026. Issuing bodies are predominantly school districts and municipal departments handling routine facility maintenance and capital projects, though cooperative purchasing vehicles such as Sourcewell also aggregate demand on behalf of multiple jurisdictions and public entities.

Recent activity concentrates in Texas and the Pacific Northwest, with the Northside Independent School District and the City of Charlotte transit authority representing current demand. The code shows modest recent volume—only one or two baseline opportunities appear in the most recent window. A Sourcewell cooperative RFP #061626 issued in May 2026 for law enforcement equipment (due June 16, 2026) was tagged to this code but addresses equipment outside typical electrical raceway scope, suggesting possible miscoding by the issuing body. School districts and transit authorities sourcing electrical maintenance represent the most consistent buyer profile, typically requiring sealed or electronic bids with shipping included to the buying entity's location.
