UNSPSC 39121317: Ceiling pan

UNSPSC 39121317 Ceiling pan is a Commodity code that does not align with recent state and local procurement activity. The source contains fourteen recent opportunities spanning electrical equipment, controls, transformers, circuit breakers, switchgear, control panels, and water-treatment upgrades — none of which constitute ceiling pans or related building envelope components. The single opportunity nominally tagged under this code, a Kissimmee Utility Authority invitation for bid on 15 kV circuit breaker replacement (IFB17003CV, due November 15, 2016), involves substation electrical equipment installation, not ceiling products.

The mismatch between the commodity code definition and actual solicitations indicates minimal current procurement activity under UNSPSC 39121317 in state and local markets. Buyers pursuing electrical infrastructure, utility modernization, and facility control systems are tagging opportunities with codes corresponding to switchgear, circuit protection, control panels, and power distribution — not ceiling components. No representative recent opportunities for ceiling pans or analogous building materials appear in the recent state and local contract record. Prospective vendors should verify that customer specifications and RFP language explicitly reference ceiling pans before committing resources to pursuit under this code; current activity suggests it sees little recent use in public-sector procurement.
