UNSPSC 32111504: Schottky diodes

UNSPSC 32111504 Schottky diodes, a Commodity code, does not align with state and local procurement activity documented in recent solicitations. The nine most recent opportunities tagged under this code involve electrical components, control systems, and equipment well outside Schottky diode scope — including SEL protection relays for utility systems, motor control centers, pump station enclosures, ballasts and capacitors, elevator and escalator maintenance, cold patch asphalt, general building renovation, electrical parts on an open-order basis, and law enforcement equipment. None of these solicitations reference Schottky diodes, discrete semiconductor devices, or semiconductors of any kind. The mismatch between the code's nominal definition and the work actually being solicited suggests misclassification at source or a fundamental disconnect between taxonomy assignment and operational procurement practice in this sector.

No recent state and local procurement activity specifically targeting Schottky diodes is evident in the available records. The code appears dormant or rarely used for genuine Schottky diode purchases in state and local government. Business development activity under this code should be treated with caution pending verification of actual demand or clarification of coding practice among target jurisdictions.
