UNSPSC 32101656: Global positioning system GPS integrated circuit

UNSPSC 32101656 Global positioning system GPS integrated circuit is a Commodity code that does not show relevant recent activity in the state and local procurement record. The three most recent opportunities tagged under this code involve electronic equipment and parts procurement by Northside Independent School District (San Antonio), outdoor circuit breakers and protective relays for Lubbock Power & Light, custom printed circuit boards for the University of Wisconsin-Madison, and law enforcement equipment aggregated through Sourcewell—none of which are GPS integrated circuits or closely related components. The mismatch between the code's nominal scope and the actual work being solicited suggests the issuing bodies are either applying the code incorrectly or the opportunities have been mistagged in the source data.

If GPS integrated circuits are being procured by state and local government, recent activity is not visible in the opportunities currently indexed under this code. Firms evaluating whether to pursue work in this technology area should not rely on this UNSPSC code to surface relevant solicitations and should instead monitor state purchasing portals directly or use alternative classification systems to track GPS and positioning technology procurement.
