UNSPSC 31381105: Cast machined isotropic samarium cobalt magnet

Cast isotropic samarium magnet that has been machined

UNSPSC 31381105 Cast machined isotropic samarium cobalt magnet is a Commodity code with minimal recent state and local procurement activity. The single identifiable opportunity under this code is the City of Midland, Texas, IFB for fire hydrants posted March 26, 2026, due April 9, 2026 — a solicitation for 71 hydrants (45 units of 4-foot, 20 units of 5-foot, and 6 units of 6-foot) under the U25-01 Fire Hydrant Replacement Project. The fire hydrant solicitation does not align with the code's nominal scope of cast machined samarium cobalt magnets, suggesting a tagging mismatch between the opportunity and the UNSPSC classification.

The code shows limited recent activity: only one state and local contract opportunity in the current dataset, posted in Texas. No geographic spread across multiple jurisdictions or repeat issuing bodies is evident. No information on incumbent vendors, award value, or budget range is available in the source. Bidders are required to submit through Bonfire, include itemized pricing and delivery timeframes, and comply with Texas local preference provisions under Section 271.9051, which permits award to a local bidder if their bid falls within five percent of the lowest non-local offer. Proof of workers' compensation insurance is mandatory within 21 days of award, with the City named as additional insured.
