UNSPSC 31301516: Steel rolled ring machined forgings

UNSPSC 31301516 Steel rolled ring machined forgings is a Commodity code covering fabricated metal products — specifically, precision-machined ring forgings used in rotating equipment, pumps, compressors, and industrial machinery. State and local governments procure these components primarily through maintenance and repair operations at water and wastewater treatment facilities, municipal utilities, transit authorities, and public works departments that operate or maintain industrial equipment. The work includes sourcing, fabricating, and delivering machined forgings to specification, often as part of capital equipment replacement or emergency equipment repair contracts. Issuing bodies span water districts, public utilities, municipal transportation authorities, and state departments of transportation or public works.

The source contains no recent state and local contract opportunities tagged to this code. Without posted RFP, RFQ, IFB, or ITB records, the current procurement velocity under UNSPSC 31301516 cannot be characterized. Firms evaluating pursuit under this code should monitor state utility procurement portals and regional cooperative purchasing vehicles serving water authorities and transit systems, where equipment-component replacements are typically posted, but should not expect regular activity in this narrow commodity classification.
