UNSPSC 31301317: Composite impression die machined forgings

UNSPSC 31301317 Composite impression die machined forgings, a Commodity code, covers precision forged metal components that are machined after impression die forging — a manufacturing process used by state and local governments primarily in heavy equipment maintenance, infrastructure repair, and specialized equipment fabrication where high-strength, complex-geometry metal parts are required. The code captures ready-made or custom-ordered forged components such as connecting rods, crankshafts, structural brackets, and other load-bearing parts that agencies source from metalworking vendors rather than fabricate in-house. Issuing bodies soliciting under this code include state departments of transportation, municipal utilities, county maintenance departments, and regional transit authorities that manage fleets and infrastructure requiring precision forged replacement parts.

No recent state or local contract opportunities appear in the available source material for this code. The code shows minimal activity in current state and local procurement, limiting visibility into geographic concentration, issuing-body patterns, or representative recent solicitations. Firms evaluating this code should monitor for opportunities through state-specific cooperative purchasing networks and industry-focused procurement channels, as demand tends to emerge episodically through equipment-failure-driven RFQs rather than standing RFPs.
