UNSPSC 31281916: Steel draw formed components

UNSPSC 31281916 Steel draw formed components (Commodity) covers stainless steel and specialty metal components produced through draw forming processes, including diaphragm plates and similar stamped or formed metal parts used in equipment assembly and industrial applications. State and local governments procure these items primarily through higher-education institutions and university systems that operate research facilities, laboratories, and technical infrastructure requiring precision-formed metal components for equipment maintenance, upgrades, and new installations.

Texas A&M University System posted an ITB for stainless steel diaphragm plates on October 12, 2026, with bids due October 28, 2026 (ITB TAMUS-ITB-26-0547). All bidding occurs through the AggieBid procurement portal; prospective vendors must register electronically and submit bids via that system, with addenda and updates posted within AggieBid rather than on the ESBD. Technical questions direct to Sterling Crowdus at soprocurement@tamus.edu or through the Q&A function in AggieBid. The recent-opportunities block identifies Texas as the primary jurisdiction with posted activity under this code, though the sparse record suggests limited visibility into state and local procurement demand for this commodity category overall.
