UNSPSC 31231404: Aluminum shim stock

UNSPSC 31231404 Aluminum shim stock is a Commodity code for thin aluminum spacer and alignment materials that state and local governments procure for equipment maintenance, machinery assembly, and facility repairs. Recent state and local procurement records show minimal activity under this code, with no opportunities posted in the searchable recent-opportunities dataset. Aluminum shim stock typically serves specialized maintenance and repair functions across multiple issuing-body types — state transportation and public-works departments, county facilities and fleet-maintenance operations, school districts, and municipal public-works divisions — but the code does not currently appear to be attracting significant competitive solicitation volume in state and local markets.

Without recent posted opportunities, no geographic concentration or representative solicitations can be identified from current data. State and local procurement under this code, when it occurs, is likely embedded in larger equipment-maintenance contracts, master supply agreements, or small routine purchases below formal RFP or RFQ thresholds. Firms pursuing activity in aluminum shim stock should monitor state cooperative purchasing vehicles and standing-supply schedules for commodity additions, and track facilities, maintenance, and fleet-services solicitations where shim materials may appear as line items within broader procurements.
