UNSPSC 31231401: Brass shim stock

UNSPSC 31231401 Brass shim stock, a Commodity code, covers brass components and fastening materials that state and local governments procure primarily for water infrastructure maintenance and repair. The City of Arlington, Texas solicited an annual requirements contract (IFB 270041, due October 22, 2026) for brass water repair parts including service line fittings, accessories, and tapping saddles destined for water warehouse stock replenishment. The code captures consumable brass parts used in municipal water system operations rather than one-off shim or spacer stock. Issuing bodies under this code appear to center on municipal water utilities and public works departments managing regular inventory replenishment for ongoing maintenance cycles.

The source provides a single recent state and local opportunity, limiting geographic characterization to Texas activity. The City of Arlington's October 2026 contract notice represents the most concrete evidence of current procurement under the code. Bidders should note that Arlington requires electronic submission through the Euna Procurement platform exclusively; paper bids are accepted only as a secondary option and must be sealed with company name, solicitation number, and title clearly marked. The city will not accept responsibility for solicitations received outside Euna Procurement and warns that incomplete specifications or missed addenda resulting from alternative notification channels may render bids non-compliant. Late submissions will be rejected.
