UNSPSC 31171540: Bearing needle

An important individual component of a bearing that is sold separately and serves to decrease the friction of the bearing.

UNSPSC 31171540 Bearing needle is a Commodity code that does not align with the state and local procurement activity recently posted under its designation. The sole relevant opportunity—a West Travis County Public Utility Agency RFQ for raw water intake ball valves and installation services—addresses valve procurement and site labor, not bearing needles. The San Bernardino County ITB 6391 for parts and supplies lists over 500 line items including motors, pumps, and building materials but does not itemize bearing needles as a distinct procurement line. The Williamson County notice is administrative relocation only and carries no procurement scope.

The code shows minimal recent activity aligned to bearing-needle procurement at the state and local level. The West Travis County RFQ, posted August 13, 2026 with a September 2, 2026 response deadline, represents the only substantive recent opportunity traceable to this code's designation, yet it addresses engineered valve systems rather than commodity bearing stock. Without evidence of consistent bearing-needle solicitation by state departments, counties, cities, school districts, transit authorities, or other local bodies, this code does not support a clear procurement signal for business development targeting state and local buyers.
