UNSPSC 31163218: Bearing adapter sleeve

Tapered adapter sleeves used to mount tapered bore bearings.

UNSPSC 31163218 Bearing adapter sleeve is a Commodity code that covers mechanical coupling and adapter components used to mount bearings onto shafts or between rotating equipment. State and local governments purchase bearing adapter sleeves primarily through maintenance and repair operations for fleet vehicles, water and wastewater infrastructure, HVAC systems, and industrial equipment across public facilities. The code encompasses tapered, cylindrical, and specialized adapter sleeves that allow bearings to fit non-standard shaft diameters or install into existing equipment without modification. Issuing bodies span state transportation departments, county facilities management offices, city public works and utilities divisions, and school district maintenance operations.

The source contains no recent opportunities posted under this Commodity code, indicating minimal procurement activity in the state and local market under this specific designation. Bearing adapter sleeves are typically procured as components within larger maintenance contracts, equipment repair RFQs, or parts-and-supplies blanket orders rather than as standalone line items in dedicated solicitations. When state and local governments seek these components, they frequently bundle them with other mechanical repair supplies or negotiate them through existing parts vendor agreements rather than issuing separate competitive notices.
