UNSPSC 31161505: Set screws

UNSPSC 31161505 Set screws (Commodity) names a discrete fastener product, but the sole recent state and local opportunity tagged to this code—Harris County Department of Education's Competitive Sealed Proposal for Painting, Drywall, Acoustical Ceilings, and Flooring services—shows no meaningful connection to set screw procurement. The HCDE solicitation, posted May 15, 2026, is a Job Order Contracting (JOC) and maintenance services vehicle covering labor and materials for interior finishing work, with pricing structured around coefficient multipliers applied to established unit price books and hourly not-to-exceed rates. Set screws would, at most, represent an incidental fastener component embedded in drywall anchoring or fixture installation, not a primary procurement object. The code shows little relevant recent activity under its nominal scope.

The issuing body is Harris County Department of Education, a Texas education-support organization contracting through its cooperative purchasing partner Choice Partners. The opportunity carries a maximum annual aggregate contract price of $200 million across all awarded vendors, with an initial one-year term and up to three automatic renewals, a pre-proposal meeting and training scheduled for April 15, 2026, and a tentative award date of July 15, 2026. The mismatch between the Commodity code's product scope and the services-and-materials nature of the opportunity limits utility in evaluating actual set screw procurement demand in state and local markets.
