UNSPSC 31121415: Lead plaster mold machined castings

UNSPSC 31121415 Lead plaster mold machined castings is a Commodity code under which state and local governments procure manhole castings and accessories for utility infrastructure. The code captures cast iron or similar material components used in stormwater, wastewater, and potable water systems — specifically the frames, covers, and associated hardware that provide access points to underground utility lines. Recent solicitations confirm that state and local procurement offices buy finished, ready-to-install castings rather than raw materials or machining services; these are commodity-level purchases tied to ongoing utility maintenance and system expansion.

DeKalb County, Georgia represents the recent visible activity under this code. The county issued a multiyear competitive solicitation (PE64400NONST2026000000240) on April 1, 2026 for a three-year manhole casting and accessories contract, with bids due April 30, 2026, administered through its OpenGov procurement portal. The three-year structure reflects how municipalities consolidate casting procurement to stabilize supply chains and vendor relationships for essential utility components. Beyond the single documented recent opportunity, the source does not support broader geographic spread, repeat issuing bodies, or competitive intensity; accordingly, this code shows limited documented activity in the recent state and local opportunities dataset.
