UNSPSC 31121010: Copper v process machined castings

UNSPSC 31121010 Copper v process machined castings is a Commodity code that in recent state and local procurement activity covers the supply of copper-based chemical compounds rather than machined metal castings. Pasco County, Florida, the jurisdiction represented in recent solicitation activity under this code, is procuring large copper sulfate crystals and liquid copper sulfate on an as-needed basis. The mismatch between the code's nominal scope (machined copper castings) and the actual work being bought (copper sulfate chemicals) suggests that state and local procurement offices may be tagging chemical supply under a castings taxonomy, or that the code's application has drifted from its formal definition. The issuing body in the recent opportunity record is a county government.

Pasco County, Florida, posted an RFQ (RFQFP261004) on June 3, 2026, for large copper sulfate crystals and liquid copper sulfate on an indefinite-quantity basis, with proposals due June 26, 2026. Beyond this single recent opportunity, the source provides no geographic spread data, no pattern of repeat buyers across other jurisdictions, and no other representative solicitations under this code. Activity under UNSPSC 31121010 in state and local procurement is sparse enough that the code warrants close attention only for vendors serving Pasco County or positioned to supply similar chemical compounds to other Florida water-management or industrial-maintenance programs.
