UNSPSC 31101601: Non ferrous alloy sand casting

Non ferrous alloy object cast from sand molds

UNSPSC 31101601 Non ferrous alloy sand casting is a Commodity code that covers metal castings, predominantly manhole covers, frames, and related utility infrastructure components supplied to state and local water, sewer, and drainage systems. State and local governments procure these castings as mission-critical replacements and expansion items for underground utility networks; the recent activity shows counties issuing multiyear supply contracts to ensure stable access to standardized cast components that must meet municipal specifications and load ratings. Issuing bodies include county departments of transportation, water authorities, and public works divisions that manage water and wastewater infrastructure.

DeKalb County, Georgia posted a three-year multiyear contract for manhole castings and accessories on April 1, 2026, with responses due April 30, 2026, as an IFB through its procurement portal. The source shows minimal recent activity under this code; the single available opportunity represents typical usage — a local utility authority seeking casting supply under a term contract — but does not yet establish broader geographic or issuing-body pattern. Geographic concentration and frequency of solicitation remain unclear from current data.
