UNSPSC 27141000: Body tools

UNSPSC 27141000 Body tools, a Class code, covers hand and portable power tools that state and local governments procure for operational maintenance, facility upkeep, training programs, and equipment repair. Recent solicitations show demand for commodity-grade hand tools — pry bars, hammers, wrenches, saws, screwdrivers, shovels, and brushes — as well as specialized equipment such as resistance spot welders for vocational training. Issuing bodies include county commissions, state departments of corrections, and other general-purpose local jurisdictions. Procurement typically follows competitive sealed-bid or RFQ processes for routine replenishment contracts and one-time equipment purchases.

Activity under the code appears concentrated in Florida and California based on recent postings. Hillsborough County Board of County Commissioners issued ITB 26-00285 for hand tools on June 2, 2026, with bids due June 23, 2026, under a five-year ongoing contract valued at $715,540.41; award goes to the lowest responsive and responsible bidder, with delivery to multiple County warehouse locations within five business days and CPI-U-based annual adjustments permitted. The California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation, Department of Rehabilitative Programs, posted RFQ 10842275 on June 9, 2026 for a resistance spot welder for the Career Technical Education Auto Body Program at Avenal State Prison, with quotes due June 22, 2026; U.S.-headquartered firms only are eligible, and award was anticipated June 30, 2026. The Williamson County Purchasing Department notice of July 14, 2026 is administrative relocation only and does not constitute a procurement opportunity.
